The sun is our source of life on earth, without it we wouldn't be able to exist. In this workshop we explore the Sun, and find out more about this burning ball! We also look as the life of stars in our solar system.
Light & Shadow
SUITABLE FOR: Key Stage 2
Exploring different materials and their properties. Learning the difference between Opaque, Translucent, Transparent and how shadows are formed. A fun and creative workshop dancing with your shadow and making beautiful shadow puppets move in the light.

Dancing Planets! What would it be like to move on Mars? Could you dance rings around Saturn? Join Flux Dance for a dynamic workshop exploring the planets in our solar system and how they move. Future space travellers should prepare themselves for fun, games and dancing that are out of this world.

Look around you. What can you hear, see or feel? Is anything moving? All around us, energy enables change and makes things happen. It even allows us to move! Join Flux Dance as they explore the different types of energy around and within us through movement, games and lots of fun.

See how the different joint types in our bodies work to enable movement and explore different body systems and their functions with FLUX Dance. FLUX Moving Science is an innovative, creative and fun way to explore STEM subjects.
Communication Technology
SUITABLE FOR: Key Stage 3
This is a longer term project for students studying in Key stage 3. Through the students own research, they develop a dance theatre piece inspired by communication technology. Learning about Wifi, Signal and Data, the students investigate technology they rely upon in day to day life.
Built Environment
SUITABLE FOR: Key Stage 2
Like the world around us, our bodies can be used to make all different types of structures. In this exploratory workshops, students play with the concepts of tension, compression, bending, torsion, and shear help build our environment.
LIGHT WAVES
SUITABLE FOR: Key Stage 2 & 3
A wide range of invisible light energies exists beyond the reach
of unaided human senses. They dominate the science and
technology of the modern world. In this workshop we explore how
the Electromagnetic Spectrum is used to help us communicate
and how we utilise different light waves for different things.
ERUPTIVE MOVES
SUITABLE FOR: Key Stage 2
In this workshop we explore volcanoes and imagine what it might be like to live by one. Students learn different types of volcanoes, how they were created and look at some historic eruptions in history.
RAINFORESTS
SUITABLE FOR: Key Stage 2
From high up in the canopy all the way down to the rain forests floor, FLUX Dance takes you on a journey of discovery, exploring rain forests, their inhabitants and their living environments and eco-systems.
Do the locomotion
SUITABLE FOR: Key Stage 2
This workshop focuses on the forces that move our trains. Originally commissioned by the National Railway Museum, this workshop get students moving about all thing locomotive.
