Let's put the A in STEM Education

What is it all about?

> Your class works with FLUX's experienced facilitators for 6 weeks to develop a STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths) inspired dance performance.

> Class teachers can choose the STEM related theme/topic.

(You could choose Forces and Motion, Lights and Shadow, Coding, Space and Planets, Rain forests, Volcanoes...or anything STEM themed.)

> All school groups meet during week 6 to share their work to each other.

> Local STEM businesses are invited to support the event.

Why We're Great >

Excellent engaging strategies to focus all children. Outstanding behaviour management too. A great session linking subjects.

Sports premium can be used to introduce new sports, dance or other activities to encourage more pupils to take up sport and physical activities.

Moving Science?

Moving Science makes learning STEM fun, accessible, captivating and imaginative.

It utilises the arts to  encourage cross curricular learning whilst breaking down language barriers students face when accessing; Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (STEM).

Our Aims

Use the Arts as a platform to engage students who have relatively little affinity to STEM

Encourage teachers to continue cross-curricular learning as a pathway to STEM

Strengthen students’ communication, creative thinking and social skills

Celebrate diversity within education and provide a creative platform for students to share ideas.

Why work with us?

FLUX was founded in 2012, it is a dance-theatre company that specialises in scientific public engagement.  Their Educational Outreach has been formed in response to government initiatives to increase the amount of students studying STEM subjects in further and higher education. Their work has been endorsed by some of the UK's leading scientific institutions and supported by researchers, teachers and parents alike. It is at the forefront of 'STEAM' education and has been recognised by The British Science Association as an outstanding teaching practice.

FLUX is a not for profit social enterprise and we keep costs to a minimum.

Celebrating the Arts in Education

For the new academic year, I wanted to bring something new and exciting to the table. Something that would link the local community, support the curriculum, celebrate diversity and creative education.
