The Face of Science is Changing.

Over the last few years, we have seen a steady increase in the number of science communicators regularly showcasing their talents at various science festivals, events and stand up nights. We see science rap, science stand-up, science cookery, science songs, science cabaret, science dance (that's where we come in!) and a host of other performing artists taking their inspirations from the incredible and sometimes challenging world of science.

 

This certainly is an exciting time for all things Sci-Comm, with amazing talent taking to the stage, battling to change the all to familiar 'white lab coat/goggles/crazy hair' public view of STEM.

Is this for you?

Ok - so you have a set, a show or an idea. You may be regularly performing your sci-comm, you may want to but last time your nerves got the better of you? Maybe you can't seem to stop fiddling with your hands or stand very still through the whole performance.. The content is there, the jokes are funny, the song is in tune but now maybe its time to take your performance up a step?

Flux is offering the opportunity for science communicators to work with us to improve performance techniques and hone in their skills. We are sharing our years of science communication experience, physical performance practices with the sci-comm community in the hopes to take individuals talent to the next level.

Why work with us?

FLUX are science communicators in their own right. We have been working in the field for the last 5 years, and regularly present, perform and lecture about what we do. We are part of The Talent Factory Cohort, working with other elite science performers.

 

What surprises most people about FLUX is we are all performers  who love science. We are not scientists that love art. This distinct difference gives us the resource to coach all things Sci-Comm.

 

Formally we all have first class degrees in movement & somatic practices. Some of our team also are qualified yoga teachers, some are qualified teachers. We all teach, facilitate, lecture, communicate and perform as our profession.
